Estefanía Orozco

School Garden Coordinator and Educator, Children and Youth Program

Born in Colombia and raised in Philadelphia, Estefanía currently resides in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. She joined the Plenitud team in 2026 as the School and Community Garden Coordinator and as an educator for the Children and Youth program. She is passionate about community building, gardening, food and land justice, analog photography, and all things related to sustainability. She inherited her love for plants from her mother, who always kept the most beautiful houseplants at home. Her gardening journey began in 2017 at the Las Parcelas Community Garden in Philadelphia; she first cultivated a plot for personal use and later coordinated the local chapter of Veggie Mijas, where she organized and helped facilitate workshops on planting, medicinal herbs, ancestral food practices, and much more. In 2025, she completed a certification program in Regenerative Urban Agriculture at Common Good City Farm in Washington, D.C. Her passion for agriculture is deeply rooted in food and land sovereignty, cultural preservation, and community education. Through various workshops and hands-on experience, she hopes to continue expanding her knowledge of diverse agricultural practices and remains committed to the fight for food sovereignty at both local and global levels. In her free time, Estefanía can be found enjoying herbal infusions, reading a new book, attending community events, exploring the island, or tending to the plants in the garden alongside her partner.
