This Act of Love Changed My Life

Hello!

Today I feel inspired to share one of the most moving experiences that I have had in this journey with Plenitud PR. This is the story of one act of unconditional love that inspired and launched Plenitud PR. Are you ready?

12 years ago when Plenitud was only an idea, one of our best friends, Tim Carter (that we lovingly call by his nickname “Gopinatha”), had the heart to sell one of his most valuable possessions, a grand piano, to pay for plane tickets so Owen could learn about bioconstruction in California and myself and other friends could return to Puerto Rico to establish the organization and find a farm to be based out of. This piano was not only his art medium, with which he delighted us all with sweet melodies but also was used for his work and to offer music classes. Still, he saw our need and strong desire to start Plenitud PR and Tim had the heart to give away his most precious item and help us to start this move and fund the organization.

Our dear friend, Tim Carter.

This act of love not only gave us the necessary funds to take this first step, it filled us with confidence and faith to launch this project when it was only a dream. In 2012, Tim passed away in a car accident, leaving a whole in our lives and hearts. But the love and kindness continued energizing Plenitud PR and all of the lives that we managed to touch. Seeing the impact that Plenitud PR has on the lives of many people, I am filled with amazement, and contemplate how an act of love multiples and spreads further than we imagine.

I know that I may not have the level of detachment to things like Tim did, but I do love one of his favorite quotes: all expressions of love are maximal. We do not know how much time we have left in this life, but we do know there are always opportunities to practice unconditional love. So, let’s keep an open heart and desire for humility to see these opportunities.

Thank you for being a part of our community and family.
